Objectives
Students will be able to
- find the areas of squares, rectangles, triangles, and parallelograms using the relevant area formulae,
- solve real-world problems by finding areas of squares, rectangles, triangles, and parallelograms.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- using the correct notation for square units,
- parallel and perpendicular lines,
- finding the perimeters of shapes.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- unit conversion,
- composite shapes.
